Napa River Report 7-28-10

Not much has changed from last week, Stripers still slow for the big ones but plenty of schoolies to get the kids on. Cut Anchovie seems best right now.Trolling and casting swimbaits and rattle traps are only paying off with small fish with a keeper from time to time.
Sturgeon has slowed way down this week reported by many local fisherman. But are seeing many still jumping, pileworms and ghoastshrimp still seem to be the choice for the few that are still out there.
Carp fishing has picked up for many bank fisherman up river past Copia, with good numbers of fish being caught between 12and 20lbs. and should last all summer, great sport fish to chase when the main river is slow. corn seems to work best as well as many homemade baits.
